RRP for an XR6T manual is $47,990, on road would be over 50k. That's no doubt before metallic paint even. So lets say 52k-53k before you're even started with the other options. Of course we all know that 10% off that is a given... after that if it's a new build you'll struggle. If it's on the lot it's a different story. I've bought cars(as has my old man) for years at staff rates, what you're quoting there is more like staff prices. I'd believe 45k for a stock-standard, white/red, manual. That would even be good going brand new at retail.

Well, we both know how to end this don't we? Take a snap of the quote and attach the pic. :beerchug:

Rubbish... I'm very tough at the salesman, that price on the road is not possible at retail. Not for a 2010 build. No way is a new build profitable at that price. Staff discount, maybe. But then, they'll only go to their lowest price when the pen is in your hand ready to sign... never just a fly in/out quote.

I agree!!

I know of one dealership that would give that price...but when it comes to putting pen to paper they realise they 'forgot' the GST or stamp duty. Pricks are infamous for it.

The name is Q something :beerchug:

Before I start rambling on, I sell these for a living..

Thought I'd share with you a price I got yesterday from my local dealership. White 2010 FG XR6T Ute with XR sports pack, hayman reece hitch, tinted windows, xr floor mats and full tank - $40,880 drive-away.

What do you guys reckon?

Thien

Just keep going down, walk in with a credit card in your hand. They will only walk away from a deal if its not possible..

I was just quoted $40000.00 drive away last week for a 2010 fg xr6t and $59000.00 for an 09 gt last week in Brisbane so even with the upgrades your quoted price is way too much do heaps of home work and never settle for the first price they give you and be prepared to walk away!

It would be a demo. Ford just done some good sh*t with demo's....

Sedan is possible. Will make $0 though.

It's possible. It will be a demo though. And probably only have floor mats or something.

Haha, all too funny cause its true. We get customers that ring up and say they got this awesome price down there, only to come complaining when they get back that they had to pay this extra or that extra...

At the end of the day, I am happy with the purchase. Thanks for all your advice. It was a case of having a decision made on a new Fg T ute and not having all that much time. I did however have a couple of dealers' walk away as they said they cannot sell a to be March plate car for that price. So whether I could have gotten one for cheaper or one at all, I believe my new car sales manager (good friend) did a me a good deal. But I do hope that he made something from the sale as he is a friend at the end of the day.
