I have taken one for a test drive and loved it. So I have decided to get a 2010 xr6 turbo and have done a call around to a number of dealers in my area and they all seem to be giving me a similar price. I live near Townsville.I have got the dealer in Townsville to a price of $54,000 with the following options:tech packpremium audioheadlight protectorsxr matstintingscuff platesJust wondering if this seems reasonable to you?I am trading in my subaru forester which they have given a trade in of $8,500. That seems a bit steep to me, maybe I'm mistaken but I bought an August 2008 model (when FG was almost new)I bought a Manual Turbo;-Luxury pack (leather, premium sound, tech pack, 19' wheels, black dash/door spears)-Full size spare ( bargain!! )-Curtain airbags ( a must in my opinion as the price in negligible and it protects front and rear from serious head injuries, I couldn't bear to be responsible for a dead or brain damaged friend or family member.)Including the trade in (4k for an MGB) its was 50 thou.. I would think you could get it a lot cheaper, and without the luxury pack. That was the only dealer I got a price at. but Melbourne suburbs.Maybe not though? go in and bargain with a dealer that is when the discounting starts, just walk in and tell him 48k and then he might come back with 50, so meet him at 49. and your done! You should also be able to get a better deal int he big smoke like Brisbane/Sydney or Melbourne.

And like Zap said even try dealers elsewhere (just for a bargaining tool if anything)...can give you a contact in Brisbane if that helps.

I wouldn't worry about the headlight protectors, IMO they don't really have a place anymore. Since the falcons headlights are made of polycarbonate they can take anything the bumper or bonnet can, plus more.Old glass headlights made sense to have a polycarbonate cover, but covering your polycarbonate headlights with polycarbonate just means they are hard to clean, and more likely to be damaged by the rubbing of the cover than breaking without them.unless you want them, or I'm wrong. P.S. don't ever cut and polish the headlight, or they'll go misty and look

Guest Al@n Guests Posted 05/03/10 06:01 AM Share Posted 05/03/10 06:01 AM Personally, I would look at the second hand market, as there are many FG XR6 Turbo,s on the market with low K,s. You will save up to 20k, if you don't mind a few K,s and at least 10 with minimal K,s. As I think we all know the first or new buyer takes the biggest financial hit, cheers.
