Anyone had issues with shocks on the FGs?

My fronts lived a life of 20,000km... :( :dontknow::crybaby:

I am getting them replaced with Lovells, could not really be bothered to take car to Ford to try and get under warranty... They fail at fixing things and I am not even sure they would touch it since I have Lovell Lowered Springs already.

On the bright side, that horrible squeeking noise which was annoying the crap out of me for months will finally be gone :nono::bump:

Yep, I got 15k out of mine. The left had as much dampening in it as a bike pump. Seriously I would be doing your upper control arm bushes as well with superpro While they are under there. They will be shagged and more than likely the cause of your squeek. Oh and do your radial bushes as well. Heaps more feel when you do. I don't know why Ford thought bubble gum would make good bushes.

Oh and Fords reply. no their fine. Ha ha ha May a thousand goats back up into the marketing dept of Ford and give them a sultana shower, Sweeeeeet

Damn straight. I admire a lot of the work you've done to your car mate but on this point you'll get no sympathy from me, nor any of the chassis engineers at ford, and hence no warranty.

that's kinda like tryin to get the conrods replaced after you whack 30psi into the thing :omg:

Ford can only offer a guarantee for what we've tested the things to (and even then its a gamble!)

On the bright side, new shocks should be a great improvement! :stupid:

No offence Kice, but the amount of work you've done to every aspect of your car I would have thought you wouldn't even contemplate thinking, let alone trying, about a warranty claim.

Especially considering the amount of folding stuff you've outlayed to get where you are now.

it seemed like the shock had a dent/scratch on the sliding part which was strange as well... I am really pleased with the aftermarket shocks and prefered to replace with aftermarket opposed to putting ford unmarked "mystery" shocks on again.

yeah I dont really trust ford with my car, everytime it went there came back worse or they broke something... pretty poor effort. nobody really knew what they were doing either.

I still have that blasted oil leak, after 10 attempts I gave up. few other consistant issues which were not fixed after multiple attempts which I also gave up. paying for warranty items to be fixed, but credited later on after complaining... why would they disconnect my reverse camera too.. zzzzzzz

despite one dealer I took it too managed to blow some components from my custom stereo, and it was evidant as settings were still left tampered after car was returned to me... (obviously attempted to crank it up, being uneducated as to how my system actually works seems like they put factory eq on max and then cranked volume to max... rather than using my remote and keeping the volume to the level which it was tuned at).

but anyway...

was just wondering if anyone else had problems and learned that I am not the only one...
