ok so I got a better idea now

is it really worth going to all this trouble if im only upgrading the speakers at this time???

does anyone have the 5x7 to 6 inch MDF adapter template in a printable formatt

Have you bought your speakers yet?

If not, most Alpine splits come with an adaptor to fit the factory mounting holes. :beerchug:

I take it your car is a B series?

Just be careful with mounting the amp upside down. this is considered a big no no as heat gets trapped in the circuits and doesn't easily dissipate through the heatsink.

I did it also in the same place and although it works 90% of the time, if I have had my car in the sun for a few good hours my amp (earthquake) wont work until it has cooled down.

The parcel shelf gets boiling hot under there in the sun. I'll take a temp reading next time my amp isn't working to show you how hot it is.

I will end up mounting mine in the same place but up the right way and see what happens. My amp has a built in fan to.
