Hey all , Im another newb here in the forums , I recently purchased a 06 BF XR6T ute , its got a few things done to it

its got nizpro valve springs, underdrive pulley kit, plazmaman stage 3 intercooler piping and front mount intercooler, SS induction kit Plazmaman larger alloy radiator 60lb bosch injectors larger waste gate flap and stage 3 full APS stainless exhaust 3.5 inch from turbo back splitting into twins 2.5's over to the rear. now my question is its got a capa flash tuner with it that has 4 different tunes 1st being standard, 2nd is a valet tune with cuts out at 3ooo rpm so they cant rape ya car, 3rd is a 10psi tune which is what im driving it round on now and 4th is a 17psi tune which when set to the car is a weapon .... note also the car has also been tuned to run 98 ron fuel .... ive got dyno sheets for 320kw at the tyres on the 4th tune which is what I think plenty to have fun on

so anyways I want to know is 17psi to much to run on my engine being that its still running stock internals bottom end wise ??

any answers would be great !

thanks

anything over stock is a risk mate..... but 13-15 is normally not a problem- all comes down to the tune.

make sure the tune is done by a reputable tuner, and even above should be fine.

and learn what ping sounds like, so if it starts you can back off quickly.

oh and dont thrash it with less than 1/3 tank fuel unless you have a surge tank....

Awww yer sweet as .... yer it was tuned by a pretty reputable tuner ... as for thrashing it I'm pretty good when it comes to self control on the streets .... but I do plan to give it a run at the drags when the next test and tune night is on so will defo make sure its got more than 1/4 tank in it as it doesn't have a surge tank as yet.

as for it pinging I haven't heard it ping as yet but yer for sure will back straight off if it does .

when I get a bit more spare cash I plan to get it looked over buy the local fella here that's is the XR6T guru when it

comes to tuning, but after forking out 26k for the car it may be a little while LOL

Thanks for the very useful Info mate appreciate it :)

actually- my bad! I didnt notice you had a ute- they for some strange unknown reason dont seem to suffer from fuel starve like the sedans- any ute owners confirm this?

however it is insurance- I just got around to having a pw installed- now I gun it on empty just cause I can- plus wouldnt you know it, I only ever lined up against an hsv when I was almost empty, so I looked like a wuss when I wouldnt run him.... :3gears:

awww k then sweet as , im also led to believe that the BF's have a different bottom end to the BA's ?? any truth to this a friend that's a mechanic at ford said they have the stronger bottom end from the BA typhhon/tornado ....

Throw a dyno sheet up of the 4th tune if you have it, 320 seems a bit low for 17psi and the mods you have to it.

When you get used to the car 320rwkw isn't gonan feel all that quick.... :buttrock:
