Looks like im just going to buy the Monza harness like the OP put up. It has the ADR tag and is $100 off ebay. I really dont care about the safety aspect of it, I will only be using it for running down the strip. The seat belt does a fine job and its just a normal street car not like its stepping out sideways half track. After running an 11.97 yesterday at WSID they were waiting for me as I came back and along with buying a ANDRA licence told me I had to have a 4 point harness the next time I showed up.

Mate I am sorry but this is the dumbest statement I have ever read on here.

I guess you are the type of person who will go and buy a $100 helmet as well ?

You SHOULD care about the seatbelt, even if you are driving around the corner. It can save your life and to spend a few $'s more to get a decent one is money well spent.

Please do not make silly statements on here that you hopefully do not mean.

What I meant was I dont want to buy a top of the range harness, rip out my seat etc to fit it all when all I will use it for is a few runs on the quarter mile. The standard seat belt is very safe for where I'm at and I will fit a harness only because I have to. Would you strip the inside of your GT-E and weld in a roll cage because it would be much safer?

My helmet is worth a lot more then $100 but that's cos I race my bike, If it was just for running an 11 sec 1/4 mile in the car I would only get a $100 one.

I`ll add this as my final input.

Everyone does this, I did. You only consider your own car. There are 2 cars on the track.

Now I can not ( thank Christ ) recall 2 street cars locking oars at a test and tune.

Okay imagine you`ve left the line and you`re on your way to an 11.8 at 115-120 mph.

Old mate next to you sits there building boost and then with his big power car chases you down, at the 1,000 foot he`s caught you and sprays coolant on the rear tyres at 120 mph, he has front runners and baggy slicks and could`nt drive a nail into a watermelon anyway.

He drills your rear quarter, first thing you know about it is the BANG! cause you`re fully focused on your run.

You both plow into the wall and the next days newspaper.

Now I`m very VERY thankfull that I`ve never seen happen but anyone who`s been to the drags anywhere knows full well that it could.

Finally don`t mistake me for some snivelling apostle of safety, cause if something stupid can be done I`ve done it and have the scars and arrest record to prove it.

Your point about eh GT-E is exactly mine, I`m not drilling holes in car, its not a drag car. So, if it comes to that I`m either retired or its 205`s and pursuit rims on the rear. heh.. That`d sweet.

Sermon ends here.
