For example, I've two T's tuned with Nizpro kits running 350rwkw with stock engines (apart from upgraded valve springs) that have the arse driven out of them. Both owners understand that the next level of power requires an upgraded set of rods only, so are happy to stay at that power level.I'd draw the limit of the F6 engine at 380-400rwkw, and personally cannot see the point of going more. For me, it's a street car, not a race car, and I would be embarrased to parade a car with huge rwkw figures but not manage to run a decent time. I've seen a couple of big hp GENIII Commodores featured in Perth Street Cars with over 600rwhp run measly 12's down the drags, and have had their arse handed to them with cars running 380-400rwhp.I think Turbotom makes some valid points. At what sort of power level should you be thinking of doing this mod and whats a set of gears cost to buy??

phildub Member 52 Member For: 18y 4m 7d Posted 19/10/06 12:06 PM Share Posted 19/10/06 12:06 PM T's do drop rods as this is the weak point in an engine that has so much potential. The safe limit when tuned well is around the 330 rwkw's. It also depends on how early the power is made.It has been talked about a number of times but it is torque that dose the damage,eg if you try and make 330 at 3000rpm your going to have trouble as the torque is very high if you make the same power at 6000 you will be quite safe
