And just putting rods and oil pump gear is so easy. Being a floating pin the pistons can be swapped simply. No boring/honing, no new rings. It really is the most economical solution. Most guys could do this in the back shed without the block leaving the block!!!!

So basically all you folk forking out big coin for built motors have been duped, when a set of LPG conrods and factory pistons (plus billet oil pump gears) will probably do the job for street/strip use :spoton:

Engine longevity has a lot to do with the peanut tuning the car :spoton:

Interesting point, I think I remeber this from some time back. For others what would be the coin for an engine spruce as mentiuoned above?

Yes very much so, im pushing 38orwkw through the stock engine and I have put 15,ooo very very hard k's on it.

Yep, trade price the rods are around $53.53 ea, pistons around $160ea.

Yep, trade price the rods are around $53.53 ea, pistons around $160ea.

sounds good but I would not use the lpg or f6 rod as a replacement if you paid me!

if it were there fine but if not why pay $400 od bucks trade for rods with a thicker cross section but narrower beam rendering them at best 10% better

as to std pistons great if you have a std bore block that is able to be clearanced correctly as os sizes are not available!!!

That's right...

Why go to all the trouble of replacing rods only to use LPG rods which are marginally better?

You would be far better off using aftermarket rods which are much stronger.
