You cant run big cam's with the VCT brad from Atomic has told me, (Stage 4+ Up Im sure ??) as it cant keep the cam's phased with the crank at high RPM or something along those lines, so they remove all the VCT cam gear's and fit adjustable set...

Hey Steve that's what im doin atm, putting the Atomic gears in , The vct solenoids where always playing up.

Iv just pulled the engine out of my bf typhoon to rebuild it (cracked piston) and a cant decide weather to get a atomic 998 phase 2 rebuild kit or just get an assembled 698 short motor! I'll be running the sik turbo for now to get my 10 then il be doing a 6 boost gtx42 set up later. Why is the max anyone has pushed a 698 to reliably?

warranty til 698 so if you don't plan to go over that then I wouldn't bother.

gtx42 > 698 though innit

698 is fwkws.

Seen more than a few gt42's go over or close to 600 rwkws wich is well over 698 at the fw.

A gtx will see close to 700 rwkws with all the appropriate supporting mods.
