Hey Guys

Been doing a bit of research on the FG XR6T's as im planning to buy an FG ute at the end of the year. Ive searched high & low and still having trouble finding the info I need.

From what ive gathered I see that the FG turbo maxes out at about 300-320rwkw. Now from a few posts ive read I notice ppl saying put a bigger comp cover on and you should make more power.

What turbo are the FG T's running?

Have they changed from the 35/40?

If not, how/why are BF's making so much power with the 35/40 without changing comp covers? By "so much power" I mean around the 350rwkw mark.

Any help greatly appreciated as I want to start slowly buying some parts so by the time I get it I can have all the goodies together and take it to a shop to get installed/tuned.

Cheers,

Paul

im in the process of upgrading my turbo atm,and for a pretty cheap price. I was in the same shoes as you, have a look at my thread, hope to get around 370rwkw, stock exhaust though, depends on if you want to go race airbox and full exhaust could make 400

Cheers for the link CAM already had a read through it yesterday.

Im guessing that they still use the 35/40 on the FG then with the .50 front housing if people are saying go the 0.70 housing.

To be honest I'll be happy with 350ish atw.

Also would like to retain standard exhaust with metal cat & bigger dump.

P.S. Nice looking ute, exactly what I want in winter white but with agents. Anymore pics of it :)

yeah I wish I had have gone the argents, would happily sell the r spec type mags to someone to get some argents!! and I really want an f6 front, but its still to exxy atm for one. I have a few pics, ill put some up in the images in profile when I get the turbo back and have a photo of it too. if you are after a top quality dump and cat a guy on here jamie is borrowing my ute soon to do up some to sell at a fairly cheap price, im getting him to make up a pipe from the front of the turbo to the standard pipe on the top of the engine (due to the larger front housing opening). im sure jamie will comment on this and fill you in more. how much power are you wanting to go for?

F6 Front would be awesome!

Went to the local ford dealer here in Melbourne last night to have a look at the white fg f6 ute they have in the showroom, absolutely porn!!

The dump & cat sounds interesting. Let us know once you have got it done with some pics if possible as im interested in this. What size dump & cat you going to go?

Considering im not going to make much more than 300-320rwkw (from what ive read) on the standard turbo I'd say that would be it for a while.

So far the shopping list will include:

- PW Stage 2 IC

- PW Battery relo kit

- PW Pod/box

- 60lb dekka's

- Walbro intank

- Tune

Possibly a PW surge tank & 044 later down the track aswell.

I want to start buying these parts ASAP to keep me motivated to get the fg at the end of the year as I change my mind like the wind lol

I drove my mates BF T ute the other day with the ZF box and enjoyed but not an auto type of person. Also contemplated a VE Bogan special ute but not really my cup of tea. Drove my mates VE Maloo the other day and it goes awesome but I want something that isnt going to cost an arm and a let to mod. Plus ive been a turbo guy all my life owning only one v8 so its really my only choice.

You had an problems with the ute to date?

you will need the fpv headlights. or the g6 -xt headlights if you want to upgrade to the fpv front bar :)

yeah id just swap someone with an xt that wants to do an xr conversion, its the f6 front bar that's expensive, even at $2800 from ftg

theres a blue front bar on ebay at the moment for $270 starting bid. Has some scratches etc but even if it costs $600-$700 to paint/repair its still a minimum of $1800 saving.

Edit: looks like the price has been dropped to $0.99 and the clip is broken and its a GT bar (not sure if F6 & GT are different)

But theres also another one
