Run it down the 1/4 Kirjo, I'm sure Spiko will happily run next to you :blaah:

But if you're keen, I've been thinkin about goin down one Saturday night and giving it a go ;) shoot me a PM and we'll get it organised

From what I've gathered on dyno's, they all read differently, tempted to do a test myself as one of my customers is JT Performance, was thinking about getting them to run up on their dyno for comparison, but really it's a waste of time. All I know is that my car now pulls like a freight train..they difference between its previous tune of 335HP and 360HP is huge. The push into your seat acceleration doesn't come from the power, it's the torque :beerchug:

Hey spiko, when we goin' for another cruise? Think my old man's keen for you to take him for a run in the phoon :innocent: he was quite impress what the rear end was doing from 90k/h when we were following you.

How I would love to mate. Read my other thread 'my 20S have been wrecked'. I don't think she would pass scrutineering with those wheels, and I sold my 17s. BIG mistake!!

I think the RDP readout is more accurate, Lee doesn't try to fudge any figures by placing temp senors in more favourable places and makes sure the car stays down on BOTH rollers, etc. If the car crawls up onto the front rollers only, it can exaggerate the readout.

Are RDP back in business? Can anyone tell me where they are know and if they are any better.

Sorry to hijack....

Cheers.

RDP have new owners and they are now called Real Dyno Performance. I have only heard excellent feedback from people who have had their cars tuned there, and I am over the moon with the work they have done on my car.

I laugh at dyno figures. I had a number of different tuners from small operations to big operations. Each tuner runs my car up on the dyno and it makes about 270 rwkw. Then they tune my car and is makes about about 300 rwkw to 340 rwkw. But when I run the car at calder park the tunes from the big operation which make closer to the 300 rwkw mark are faster and my 60 foot time are the same matter who tunes my car. Also the tunes from the big operations are smoother and are nicer to drive everyday.

I wouldnt say im an expert but there are too many variables to measure improvement from your 60ft times. You should see a difference in mph and hopefully ET as well though.

Thanks for that, I might pay them another visit.

I would be getting it out to the drags mate!!!!

the power figure on my car varies a great deal from dyno to dyno...

mph is the best indicator of power...

when im doing back to back 124-125mph passes I know that my car is making the power.

or if ive picked up mph at the drags I know I have gained power..

there are too many variables to accurately gauge power gains on the dyno as it is only a tuning tool.
