Hi guys,

Coming from an M3 E46 which is really not modifiable without spending huge $$$...

I've seen alot of people here easily seeming to get 300 + RWKW out of their XR6t's.

What is the best way to get there?? is it possible with a 5k limit in mind?

Keeping in mind that we may want to do a mod per week and drive the car in between, is it safe to drive the car in between without electronic calibration????

What products are also recommended? keeping in mind that I may want more power down the track....!!?

Is there anyone out there looking for a mods buddy and wanting to earn some extra cash on the side??

I live in Knoxfield Vic.

So far I've gathered the following mods must be made ;

  • Injectors
  • fuel pump
  • Valve springs
  • Exhaust
  • intercooler

Looking forward to some revved up replies!!

MM

Mate..

Firstly we need to know which model you have, as the newer ones are built better/stronger and would need different mods to achieve a certain power..

Also the first thing on your list should be a Flash box, cant do anything without one.

for every mod you do your gonna need another tune so best bet is save your cash and hit it all at once!

I make an easy 344 with injectors, intercooler, cat, fuel pump and tune on a BF MK2 xr6t

so speak with a tuner and let them know what you want and they will help you out I'm sure the vic boys on here will let you know which vic tuners are good.

Best to pick a tuner and ask them. They will make sure you are going down the correct path with your car from the first mod. With the amount of different opinions/experiences people have you will just end up modifying everything. I'm pretty sure most tuners charge for re-tunes by the hour so it wont be a problem doing it in stages.

If it is a bf mk2 or post 06/06 you could probably get there with the following:

xcal box + tune

injectors (dekas to keep price down)

fuel pump

high flow cat

intercooler kit (whatever your budget allows for after pricing the stuff above).

Look for used bits on here which could save you a couple of hundred here and there. I worked out it will cost me around 6-7k to get to that point but I'm not using the cheapest gear and im including a full xforce exhaust in the pricing too. I am doing most of the work myself though.

One last thing - dont skimp on a tune to save a few bucks. It will cost you more later.
