I know they are water cooled already, but after a few stationary skids on a very hot day at a car show, the car went into limp mode once, indicating that the tranny temp went up a bit too high. Now I'm thinking that a thermo fan, either hooked up to a manual switch in the cabin, or to come on with the radiators thermo fans, would be a good idea and would just help to get the temps a bit lower when the car is not travelling very fast.Has anyone done this before, and if so where did you buy the thermo fan from?Cheers. I'm very suprised no one has done it before, it seems like a pretty easy thing to do. I'm not sure if I'll have it on a manual switch (for when I know its going to get a workout) or just have a thermoswitch or something checking the fluid temp and have it come on automatically. Could even wire it up so when the radiators thermo fans kick in, then the tranny one kicks in too.. that way its totally automatic and it would come on when the car gets a bit warm on its own? From memory it sits somewhere near the sump and is more a block shape rather then a conventional radiator type shape. Might be a bit hard to fit a decent size thermo fan on there that would do anything.

I've been told where it sits, and in which direction its mounted, but I haven't actually seen it yet Are the lines going into it rubber or metal? Either way, it sounds like it might be better to purchase one of the kits which has a cooler and thermofan together, and replace the stock one with the new one? Here's a pics of mine.I dont think you'll need a thermo fan either, the highest I've seen mine go is around 76c when I was stuck in traffic for around 40min. Do you have any more pictures of the setup at all? Especially where/how the new cooler is fitted under the car?Only reason I was thinking a thermo would come in handy, is because during long static burnouts on a warm day (eg. car shows) it can get pretty hot :(
