I have considered coil overs but have decided against them as the roads here in Central Queensland are extremely rough and the stiffer ride would make driving the car less enjoyable.I would like to make an educated decision before I buy so.....Could you all share your experiences with different brand shock absorbers. Giving a rating out of 10 for "Ride quality,Stiffness and Satisfaction".. Cheers Brad

Or advise you on alternatives.

I got told the Monroes are more for lowered and/or repacement for stock. Ok though. But seriously, Pay (senna_t) is the man. I have standard ride height with pedders sway front and rear. I probably could lower it a bit, and would like it a bit stiffer but theres no body roll and it suits me down to the ground so to speak.Coil overs and Konis are a bit more expensive. Just depends on what you want to acheive.

Some have had coil overs and frankly unless you are doing track days or some pretty serious driving I debate the need.Monroes IMO are to shocks what a paper air filter in a standard air box is to breathing...in other words a suitable replacement that compares to OEM.Bilstein all the way! A superb solution for achieving that sure footed feeling without beating the budget or compromising ride quality.

I've heard the rear is copied off the shortened body XR shock, but not the front.. Anyone confirm?

Does this mean the front KYB shock will be longer than a stock XR one?I don't really wanna be stuffing AU gear into the towers. Not real keen on Pedders, or Monroe, but no-one actually makes a shortened shock? I miss my BOGE's on the EA lol. I don't think I can afford Bilsteins and coil overs are a waste for my purpose.
