Just a question if your boot is open and you lock the car does the alarm go off to tell you that it's open ??

Coz I think my boot switch doesn't work that tells me that it's open...but I just want to make sure that I'm right...

anyone with a BA or BF can help me.

Hi there

I just checked my car. BA MKII T. The horn only sounds if any doors are not closed. If a door is not closed, the car horn will sound a few times. If the boot lid is not closed / locked the horn will not sound. If you leave the boot lid oben / up and you look the car with the remote, the horn will not sound !!

So before you walk away from the car you have to make sure the Boot is shut and looked.

PS

If you don't shut the boot lid and drive off, the dash light / chime will tell you that a Door or Boot is not shut.

Can someone please tell me where the switch for the boot being open is. In the old days the open door or open boot/bonnet was a plunger style switch like in old fridges. I'm bloody positive that my boot switch is cactus, but I cannot find it to test it with my fluke multimeter. Any help is greatly appreciated. My car is a 2003 BA manual turbo I've had since new. I hope someone can help as this constant alarm is driving me nuts. :-)
