To go high 400s and above you'll need a turbo rated around 1000hp, but theres more to picking a turbo than alot of guys think.

first up decide how much power you want, how much low down power you are happy to live without, max boost you want to run ect.

You can select a turbo that will in theory make 500wkws on 30psi, which may be maxed out at this level... or choose a turo that will make 600wkws on 30psi but run it at 20psi, and in theory, make high 400s.

Common upgrades have been GT42 and GT45 turbos of various trim/specs, most seeing over 500 when all the related hardware & tuning things are sorted.

Also all the related hardware needs to be chosen corectly to suit the application... you can easilly buy all the gear you need, bolt it all on, tune and run it, you may end up with the high 400 you want on the dyno, but a pig on low rpm and around town

I run a GT45 on my G6ET, which is very street-able...its only set to 9psi at this stage but alot of time has been spent in sorting out wastegate & exhaust design to be able to run low boost and be a street-able drive.
