Have scoured the threads and most are quite old.

There was a tutorial where the ICC was ripped out and the plug from a demister on a EL falcon was used to allow VGa imput, and then I see a converter from VGA to composite used.

In Short I have one of my daughters old school laptops I was going to play with. Its small, and I can sacrifice it. It hasd a VGA output and obviously wanna hook it into the ICC. My aim will be to get a touch screen overlay to control the applications.

I may end up getting a purpose built mini pc but for now, this costs me nothing and will do the job nicely.

Anyway, the question at hand is, whats the best (easiest if possible) way to hook the VGA out put to the ICC screen?

Thanks in advance for your help peoples.

You need a special video card to output to the factory ford screen

(RGB) like the factory ford navigation the only card that will do this is the ATI ArcadeVGA Video card sold by ozstick.com.au <http://www.ozstick.com.au/prod_interface.html> in Australian or

Welcome to Ultimarc, the Ultimate in Arcade Controls. in the UK they come in PCIE or AGP

Or if you want to use a laptop you can use the powerstrip software to output

to the screen http://entechtaiwan.com/files/pstrip.exe

Comes with software and instructions on how to configure the video card and the

powerstrip software

So basically, I get one of the external cards that convert VGA to composite/rca/cga and run this cable from it to the ICC??

You need to get a VGA to CGA converter, all you do is plug in your VGA cable from your laptop to this product and then a cable from the converter goes to the SATNAV port on the ICC. There is a thread around here somewhere that explains how to wire the plug to connect the converter to the SATNAV port on the ICC.

Then if your going down this path you might as well put a touch screen overlay on your ICC screen, you can search ebay for these, they basically turn your Premium Sound screen into a touch screen. This way you can control what ever interface you decide to use by touching the screen.

Converter

I will have a look around on the computer at home I should have the wireing diagram somewhere. Ill post it here for you if I find it.

I picked up opne of the touch screens yesterday and am loading a trial version of the Centrfuse app on the laptop as we speak, just to make sure it takes it ok.

If you could fine that wiring diagram that would be good but there was a cable mentioned earlier I thought may be the way to go. No sure.

tjb45 - did you still have the converter unit or did you end up selling it?
