At the same time I figured it was a nice time to fit new tyres to these rims and simply sell off the factory rims. Has anyone tried something different to the Forteras in the factory size 235/55/18 103V? There is a lot of brands and types out there so I figured it was certainly worth an ask. The Forteras are ok, but seeing as I know what they are like, maybe a move forwards might be in order. I dont do any off-roading and so maybe a more tarmac focused tyre may be the go. Sticks much better and is much quiter.They also offer a 50,000km warranty as long as you rotate them every 10k km. Still not cheap I guess, but developed specially for the Territory. My existing tyres probably have 30-40% left after 35k so it isnt all that bad for wear..Hopefully there is something a bit grippier and a little quieter out there for not ridiculous money. I'd trade off treadwear for more grip, seeing that she gets driven a few times a month at present. Factory fitment is 103V...Hmm must check tyre placard... Could be insurance and liability issues if you stack it and you're unlucky. As to the load ratings, you are correct Twinpiston,Ive seen first hand when an insurer had declined to pay out on a claim involving a vehicle with worn out tyres (the poor dude wasn't even in the wrong, just got crashed into!) so Im very wary about those things. that's why I like factory rims with the correct load rating, tough as f^#k and dead reliable. Have also seen what happens when a cheapo rim used in motorsport just touches a kerb.. Boom, no wheel and one upside-down tarmac weapon.... Good, quality rims aren't cheap...just cheap insurance..!!
