*time of day tolling for all freeways/motorways with tolls in place(called something else on the harbour bridge/tunnel)

out of the lot this is the best idea. sh*t thing is I wish they did this for the cross city tunnel but I doubt leightons will budge on the idea.

The best thing RTA/NSW government (I know shocking) do in 2010 is take out M4 tolls....

The rego label is a good idea but I always liked the fact it had my vin number on there as another person had mentioned

Rego labels also have payment imprint details and the date your rego runs out. If for example your mum takes you car for a spin and the label says your out of rego she cant say she didnt know, but without the labels its how the fark can you tell. Even if you own the car and dont know when rego is due the label sure helps.

BS cost cost saving measure at best.

As for trucks costing more due to kms travelled ,why not they already came up with a good one this year , they reconfiguired the axle patterns on trucks and some how it now costs 1k more to reg the same truck we did last year up from 5500k to 6500k per year .

that doesnt include the cost of training drivers in fatuge management etc etc .there will be no one left before long to transport goods around the country thanks to our lovely government

A long time ago the petrol taxes were increased in order to build a sparkling new fluid safe road network.

Countless billions have been collected.

There is no road network, just tax.

spot on.

Digital Speed And Red Light Cameras Set To Hit Offenders Twice As Hard

Last Updated Tuesday February 23 2010

AS NEW SOUTH WALES rolls out the first of its 200 new digital cameras, lead-footed motorists are at risk of being penalised twice if they speed through a red light.

The new cameras, capable of detecting speeding and red light offences in the same moment, could see drivers losing their licence in one flash.

The state's next double-demerit period is due to begin in the week before Easter. During that time, a driver speeding 20km/h over the limit through a red light in a school zone could lose 13 demerit points if the intersection has one of the new cameras installed.

Four locations in NSW are set to get permanent red-light and speed cameras, with another five of the dual-use cameras to be rotated over 25 known trouble spots across the state.

The RTA is responsible for the 'safety cameras', with the first installed at Canley Heights in December.

Police Minister Michael Daley said that the popular Trapster mobile phone application might soon prove unreliable, with police using the software to report false locations.

I am sure Trapster will have a way to verify people who post false locations.

I love my Trapster and use it all the time.
