Hey guys.

I blew out my right front tyre yesterday driving over a nail by accident and now I am short of cash to fit out a new 245/35/19 tyre on my rims.

Im a student/ Ex construction worker and well income is minimal for me at the moment due to uni being my #1 priority.

I saw a set of brand new tyres on ebay being the diamond back low profile brand new tyres for 140 each which is withn my budget as I will replace both front tyres. is this a reasonable offer or is there Cons to buying tyre's off ebay?

any info will be great

u can get a few 19" Chinese tyres like the ones you have found. they will keep you on the road (most of the times), just dont expect the world form them.

And you can't afford to buy a tyre?????

What am I missing here....... :bum:

One thing to watch on Ebay is the date of manufacture....

a lot of people tend to get rid of there old stock online.....

Why can't it be repaired with a plug ? did it go through the sidewall ?

If it cannot be repaired use the spare tyre on the car and get the damaged tyre replaced with a second hand one from a tyreshop.

Do not go with cheap tyres as you pay for what you get and that aint much when it comes to tyres.

My old car I ran over a nail, took it out screwed in a big screw and it lasted a year lol.. Had to top up the air once a week, but I checked the tyre pressure once a week anyway..

Im with Zap... I have gotten a few punctures fixed, costs like $25, unless its the sidewall then ya can throw the tyre out..

I'm with the general consensus on this one. You get what you pay for with tyres and generally speaking $150ish for a 19" is going to get you something noisy as hell with a lower speed rating and compound similar to concrete.

I understand your cash shortage but given the mods you have, sticking a set of cheap, nasty chinese boots on your car is akin to sticking a $5 helmet on your head while riding a motorcycle.

At $280 for the pair of chinese ones PLUS fitting and balancing at a tyre shop you would be near as sparrow fart to the price of a decent replacement.

I have no cash as I stated I am a full time student at the moment.

also I have currently two stocks aka stealys on the front for the time being so I might save up and buy some decent tyres
