Nothing you can do to stop low life scum walking up and scratching your car. Even if it was a trolley someone who carelessly just hit your car with a trolley even if it was an accident it’s still their fault for being careless. Really pisses me off how people will just damage someone’s car look at it and just walk off, mind you their car is usually a complete dump and they have no respect for anyone else's property.Try get it fixed up, some detailing place should be able to get rid of it so it looks like it was never there. He has seen my car before, before it got scratched, so he knows what colour it is and everything. He told my old man the whole door will need to be painted and it'll need to be taken to bare metal, if the scratch has gone to undercoat. He also said it's a very hard colour to match and that it can't be matched 100% to the rest of the car after it's first painted...it'll need to be buffed a couple of times to get it to match 100% to the rest of the car. Is there anyone out there who has had to get their Ego coloured car painted, or any other colour like it and can confirm for me if this is the case? My dad's gonna take the car to him tomorrow to get a proper quote, but just wanted to get peoples' opinions on the matter, as I'd hate to get the door painted only for it to look different to the rest of my car :( bloody shattered...2 weeks of owning an immaculate looking car and someone has to do this. xpl0sive Member 421 Member For: 16y 23d Gender: Male Location: Melbourne Posted 17/02/10 10:37 AM Author Share Posted 17/02/10 10:37 AM The guy is a top notch panel beater and has been around for a long time, plus my dad knows him well and has taken a few cars to him in the past, so he won't do any dodgy work on my car. From the description my dad gave him, he said he would need to bring the door back to bare metal and paint it. My dad is taking it to him tomorrow for a proper quote though so he can actually see the scratch and what needs to be done. I told my dad to tell him to do whatever is neccessary to make the car look exactly like it did before, and look like it was never damaged in the first place...regardless of cost. If it costs too much, I'll just do it through insurance. I'll wait and see what he says first.

I know f--- all about painting cars, just a thought.

xpl0sive Member 421 Member For: 16y 23d Gender: Male Location: Melbourne Posted 18/02/10 05:08 AM Author Share Posted 18/02/10 05:08 AM ok my dad took the car in for a quote today...bloke reckons it's a big job, to do properly, due to the colour of the car being a hard colour to get right (to get the fresh paint to match up perfectly with the rest of the car). Door has to be taken back to bare metal. He recommended to just fill up the scratch with touch up paint, then buff and polish it smooth to avoid having to paint the whole door as he said no one will be able to get it 100% with the rest of the car, no matter how good they are. What are your opinions on this? Will it look sh!t house, or do you think it can turn out alright?
