recieved an email not long ago...

It goes on to say..that with the increasing road toll on our roads...manfacturers of these cars should be accounted for..

With the ever increasing kw war on local manfacturers..Kw increases are at an all time high..with one trying to out do the other.

They say that manfacturers should focus on other features to sell cars and not only on the performance aspect of those cars...

How to fix the problem...

Bring out a max kw for all cars...or a kw to tonne ratio..( being about 80kw per tonne).

If these come into effect most cars will have a major decrease in kw...with the turbo six being only being able to produce a max of 165-175 kw...With the Expensive Daewoo v8's being less than that...due to carrying less weight

WTF is going on...has anyone else heard anything about this...

The email has come from a reliable source

Is this the end of hp cars...with the std 6 already making more .....I think it would be easier to drop V8's and turbos and detune the 4.0l n/a falcon motor....Has the goverment gone mad...The end of hsv and fpr...

It will be a sad day when and if some pen pushing freak has his way.....

Enjoy our cars people these might be the last of them...hope that day never come though..

These people have no farking idea.

I can get my bunky ford laser up to 180kph and kill myself as well. High speed kills, not the power the car has.

Yea it a load of crap I reckon. Ya cant tell someone no you cant have that much power its everybodies choice to drive whatever they drive. If they happen to kill themselves in it its not the car or manufacturers fault, it is only the driver at fault. The Government cant go around trying to ban anything they dont like.

Not even high speed is the culprit. Most deaths happen while travelling at the speed limit! Just fall asleep and drift out of there lane.

What really kills people is the sudden stop when these people hit a light pole, a ditch or a tree, which the government failed to move when they built the road, or hitting a car head on due to the fact that our roads are not up to standard with the rest of the world and largely have no dividing barriers between oncoming traffic.

Maybe instead of starting all of this bullsh*t again ( this sounds a lot like the supercar scare of 1972 which killed off the phase 4)the government needs to actually spend some coin and fix the f*cking roads bringing them up to standard with other parts of the developed world!

Look, the idea has merit, it is so good we should extend it to cover other contingencies,

Make the organizers of the Mardi Gras responsible for new infections, including Aids and Hep B. Actually, better add in drug overdoses into that category.

Make the needle exchange program organizers responsible for all needles not returned to an authorized collection center.

Make the government responsible for the criminal actions of all illegal immigrants.

Make journalists responsible for the effect of all their stories

what a great idea...

let's go

Mate where you live the Govt can't because the people have balls.

This present Aus Fed Govt and all of the state Governments think they can and don't seem to care if they shouldn't. All manfacturing here has dies in the past 15 years so hell, why not let Ford and GM go as well. Rudd was quite happy to sign away the tattered remains of Australia's sovergnty at Copenhagen under the con of global warming, so why would they give a toss about what we want. They killed the phase 4 so no doubt they will listen to idiots like Harold Scruby and think they have the perfect answer then do what they will. I think it would have to be a 3 to 5 year phase in plan though.

Why do the trees and power poles have to be removed? shoudlnt ppl just not speed and not drive if there going to fall asleep. The governemtns cant fix everything. ppl need to be accountable for there own actions and poor driving choices.
