As many of you know, I blew my motor (including cracking the block). I have $3600 to play with... this must provide me with a complete short motor. What options do I have? Ford FG F6. I'm thinking of that, but unfortunately I don't have the VIN Number etc. that ford require to order me one. It's been mentioned to me that I buy an fg xr6t motor and change the rods, but that's prolly gonna break the budget too.

I understand modifying with a budget can be hard, but what oother options do I have? in any?

Cheers guys.

Contact ETM... He had a few engines sitting around... I was going to get one off him for my mate that threw a rod.. But found him extremely difficult to contact... So we purchased one off another forum member...

Last time I threw a rod. I found A short on Ford Forums ($600)... And purchased another ($1100 everthing except manifolds and ancillaries) off ebay, for a spare that I can put a forged bottem end in.. Advertise there also... You might get lucky

installation, and rebuild will all be done by me and a mate. So installation cost is not an issue.

I might try my tuner than.

your laughing then. what about building a second hand short. n/a or turbo. there both the same, someone correct me if im wrong. if you can get the short for around $500-600, I reckon 3 grand would nearly get the job done.not sure on machining costs though. pm straughsberry about his rods and pistons he has for sale. much stronger motor this way. probably go over budget but not by a huge margin.

Okay so money is sorted, and the motor is on order from ford as of first thing tomorrow morning. FG F6 Short $2930 plus $70 shipping. I'm happy with that.
