I have been challenged to a race with a 2007 WRX 2.5L

His car is totally unmodified bar the 14psi he is running

STOCK SPECS for this car

0-60 mph : 5.6 sec.(manual)

0-¼ mile : 14.3 sec @ 94.8 mph(manual)

I am running 270rwkw @ 8psi in my manual T, I was hoping to get a mid 12???? how close should this race be? or do I need to wait and boost mine to 12psi to make sure of it?

thanks

if his car is tuned to the 14 psi then I think you will get owned. 4wd off the lights is going to be very hard with your power level and yours being manual regardless. Id wait til you get a 12psi tune if your going to race him off the lights. It might be a different story if u can drive on a rolling run. Hopefully its all done on a racetrack or private property

Stock boost on the wrx is 12-13psi and the turbo is tiny. Boosting it up to 14psi makes very little difference. I only gained 2mph doing the on my forester (same engine, similar weight).

However, I very much doubt you could run a 14sec pass on the street (unprepped road) and you will get own off the lights. Which means racing to the speed limit (100km) you will struggle.

On the highway, it would be close, maybe even go to you.

And this is assuming wrx boy can drive.

14psi? With just a boost tap I imagine, so it's no quicker than stock.

You should beat him over the quarter mile given equal driving ability. And murder him 'roll on'.

If he's got a 14psi tune, he may have you over the quarter, but you'll still have him on a roll.

If he goes exhaust, turbo, I/C, tune, he will murder you eveywhere unless you have over 330+rwkw.

330+rwkw you'll beat him on the motorway.

But he'll still beat you everywhere else. :buttrock:

Boy do they get off the line quick... Once rolling though, the weight of the T isnt such a big factor, plus we all know how hard it is to launch a manual T..

Get the 12psi tune in, that's what I'd do...

What harm is there in losing? Just give it a go, that's a sure way to find out.

To be so concerned you've either talked your car up too much, or you wrx is boy is your arch enemy.

I xr6t beats a wrx stock, so why wouldnt a boosted and tuned xr6t beat a stock wrx?
