The original tune is for E85. Tuner says E70 shouldn't be a problem and have had none.If your in southern subs of Melb, the Caltex that has E85 at the moment is on Sprinvale Rd on RHS after train tracks if coming from frankston way. Panda Eyes flame magnet Gold Donating Members 5,674 Member For: 16y 7m 1d Gender: Male Location: adelaide hills- 'race air' central Posted 04/10/10 06:50 PM Author Share Posted 04/10/10 06:50 PM (edited) run it as a daily for sure! less ping, more power. fuel consumption goes up, but price per litre is down. price to run car= same (ish)if you want to run 100% e85 you need bigger injectors than 98 ron as it burns quicker so needs more volume going in.it is cleaner than 98 ron out the tailpipe, but I couldnt tell you if it runs cleaner in the engine, so I'd be still keeping your regular services.maybe do a 50/50 mix with 98 or 100 ron for easier cold starts. the only hinderance is lack of service station numbers that carry it, so if you dont live close to a supplier, get some jerry cans. RAP1D Member Donating Members 3,739 Member For: 18y 6m 28d Gender: Male Location: Sydney NSW Posted 05/10/10 01:19 AM Share Posted 05/10/10 01:19 AM Yeah it can be a bit hit n miss when doing blends that way, I did it for awhile, now I just run straight e85.From what I read, the difference between 70 & 85 can be 1 point, so if your tuned at 12.5afr at wot on e85, running e70 can run at 11.5afr... so basically it will go richer with more petrol in it.I recommend having a wideband 02 gauge/sensor set-up in the car if your running E85 / E70 or doing blends as the AFRs can change so best to monitor them.If you can use it, use it... its awesome fuel, motor runs cooler, inlet temps are cooler, more power, even my two 044 pumps in the boot are cooler so run quieter... and a bucket load more power through the rev range!
