Ford replaced the diff which shut up a bit of a whine and got rid of the vibration but it still had a rumbling wheel bearing type sound which the ford service manager said was tyres so more to proove him wrong I had a set of 19" HTR Z111 Sumitomos @ $345 a corner fitted on it this morning. The Lyn Ford service manager was 100% correct, all rumbling sounds gone along with Marangoni's .I havn't had a chance to give the Sumitomo's any kind of work as yet but I've heard some good things about them and the guy at the tyre shop runs them on his TE 50 so heres hoping Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

There was nothing wrong with the Marangonis I got except the damned rumble. They worked well and stuck to the road. If your car doesn't get the rumbles then they are a good tyre IMHO. Mine are Okay, and will take a real pizzling compared to the OEM Dunlops. But they are no quiter.My old man bought a set of 4 of the bottom of the range Marangoni`s ( LOL!! they look like wheelbarrow tyres ) one had this dent in it. Like a big arse dent too. I said that's not right Pop. He took it back and they fed him this cock and bull story about storage marks and w/e .I said.. Well I said quite a bit and he went back and they gave him a newy.He reckons they are superb in the wet.. He had Dunlop Lemans on the thing for ages. Its a 13 inch wheel on an Astra.Are Marangoni`s okay? Yes.. Will I buy again? Prolly not.Just because a tyre shop says something, dun make it true.. I got a chance to give them a bit of a try out this morning, very impressive and really quiet. I found the Marangonis hung on just fine but the car sounded like it had 4 dud wheel bearings and a crook diff it was that bad. Now with the help of some of Pats King Springs, going back to a stock rear sway bar, and a wheel alignment its finally handling like a high performance street sedan should. I'm really impressed with these Sumi's especially for the price.
