While I was hunting for some info re my mentally disturbed alarm system I came upon an article about Weapon X coils and not being able to help myself, invested the $570 they cost for the set.

Has anybody had any experience with these. The ones in the car are fine but the marketing and info blurb made them seem 1000% on the stock ones?????

There was a thread a few months ago about coils and the guy from Weapon X came on and made a cock of himself and was banned I think? Generally across the board people have found that the stock ones work best Rick

I had a set on my first s/c xr8, worked fine and never had an issue although I dont think anyone locally has really pushed the limits of the stockcoil packs.

I've read some pretty good reports on them here and there on the web, nothing negative thus far. Straughsberry did a comparison but the thread returns an error when you try to open it. I figure the stock ones have 23,000 on them now so it can't hurt to change them over. Then I'm going to find out I guess :icon_ford:

I'm fairly sure all most people are running stock coil packs, even at 600rwkw levels. I don't know how long they'd last with all that heat. I think a remote mount setup with the stock coil packs and high quality leads would be a step forward in longevity.
