Mate the unit under the bonnet up near the brake booster was making a noise like a strangled duck when the ignition was turned on which would immediately stop if the bonnet was opened so the little alarm button on the front panel could pop up, which is actually the antithesis of what should happen. The sevice manager said it was sounding so sick because its internal battery had discharged and it would charge up after 100 ks or so. I decided the drycell was fcuked from them having let it go flat, $350 later my assumption was proven incorrect. Then it decided to go off kept wailing so I pulled it out wrapped it up in a blanket and stuck it under the sound proofing in the boot where it screamed for another couple of hours. I bolted the unit back into place the next morning but left it disconnected and I think its better as all the doors still lock and the little red alarm thing flashed happily on the dash. The doors also always self lock now after 30 seconds or so if the key is out of the ignition. I have a week in Melb from Monday and its going back to have a knocking and clunking dash pad replaced, they aid they will fix it then but I might just keep it like it is. I think the truth of the matter is that the chinese are too close to the turbo and simply can't take the heat soak.
