Hey I've got a Pole Position Auto Acc tripod, and I'm putting a full sweep electrical cobalt gauge in it (easy), a Aeroforce interceptor scan gauge in the middle and a cobalt mechanical boost gauge.

All I wanna know if how you guys have got your boost gauges in? I know I have to trim the bits of thread that hang out the back of the gauge, but how did you go about the 2 spade clip fittings? They also hit the back of the pod and the supplied screw on nylon line fitting also sticks out too far.

Oh and one other thing, is there any easy way of getting the gauge out once you've pushed it in lol, I need to pull the oil gauge out to trim off the thread but its in real good lol.

Cheers,

Keelan

LOL.....I have exactly the same problem.....Anyway.....My plan is to bend the spades down and get the connectors from Coventrys tomorrow....will let you know how I go with that....

As for the nylon tube connector....I'm gonna see if there is a 90 degree elbow that I can use on the gauge.....

awhile back someone put up some pictures of his setup using a 90 degree connector for the line, and he just bent the spades.

Yeh I spoke with Danny (headsex) and he said just bend the spades down and soldier the wires to them.

A 90 degree fitting is need for the boost line, if ya have any luck finding one let me know.

Roger that.....

I got them all wired up but.......no luck (or lighting for that matter)

It seems to be blowing the fuse.....well first the 7.5A, then the 10A......

I dont know if I should keep putting fuses in for it to blow....lol...

Has anyone else had this problem with the Cobalt's??????

On a side note....went to Conventry's and they dont have the adapter....and from what I've seen on Autometers website there are 90 degree elbows available through them....I'm going to Chris Mills on Monday to order 2 for me....I'll let you know how much they cost....

what fuse it blowing? does it blow straight away? I.e. dead short circuit.

perhaps you have somehow damaged your wiring or have crushed it against the ICC chassis?

shouldn't be blowing any fuses.. I'd re check your wiring..

I ended up drilling a hole in the dash so the boost line can poke through and into the gauge. (not as dodgy as it sounds!)

Just to sort out my problem....

And I feel like an idiot....I didnt insulate one of the spade connectors on the back of one of the gauges....(hangs head in shame), hence why it was shorting out......

All fixed on that aspect....gotta goto Chris Mills tomorrow to order those adapters for the 90 degree bend....

I used a brass 90 degree fitting from Pirtek. cost about 3 bucks. bit fiddly getting the clearance in the pod, think I cut away some if the backing plate with a dremil. you cant see it so who cares. :censored:

Yeh I was thinking of heading over to pirtek and get a fitting, even just a 90 degree with a barb fitting on the other side, and just use some vacuum hose instead of the nylon line supplied.
