Almost the same as mine - octane, auto, 04/07 build, premium sound, not a cop car, 60k. They had 29900 on it but you would expect to bring it down around 27.For a cop car I wouldnt pay over 25 at most even in perfect condition - Remember your resale value will be hurt as well. I drove a few and some were quite nice but the dealer wouldnt accept my offer and missed a quick sale for the sake of $500. Now I've got mine which isnt a chaser and couldnt be happier. We're only talking an additive here(regular Vs 98), it's not the 'super fuel' that many build it up to be.Getting a bit off-topic....but that's complete crap. You will most definitely get better performance and economy on a higher RON fuel, whether it's worth it in regards to bang-for-buck is debatable though. Not talking 40kw increase but it is definitely noticeable.

Not talking 40kw increase but it is definitely noticeable.I didn't notice any performance increase until Ford actually tuned the pcm to run on 98ron, then I noticed more Zipp and touchier throttle response. As for fuel consumption, I only recorded a 1% improvement from 91ron to 98 ron, so not worth the extra money at the bowser if you ask me, But I still use 98ron, for the performance benefits and the fact it is the cleanest burning fuel available for my car

Not talking 40kw increase but it is definitely noticeable.Fair enough to have your take on the subject. I have a close family member who worked in product engineering at Ford(performance & emissions) for 20yrs up until end of '08. In other words he was heavily involved in testing of all the Falcon engines including the i6T. His words. To say it is "complete crap" and have no way to back that statement up? Well, enough said. Full use of 98 is gained through tuning the engine only. Even then, gains are modest. Stock you will gain next to nothing performance wise, especially if we're talking to the level of responsiveness of the throttle, that is just rubbish. I'd challenge anyone to drive even their own car blind and pick the fuel in it. Plain impossible. Edited 11/02/10 10:59 AM by -MARTY54-

Have had the misfortune of the blind experiment that you speak of after a mate borrowed my ute and decided to fill it up, the minute I got back in it knew he'd used 91ron before realising hed actually even re-fuelled it. And in instances where Ive had no choice but to use 91ron again it is definitely noticeable and economy suffered.Yes they tested it on 91, not debating that, but they perform better with a higher RON fuel. Any Ford engineer worth their salt (close family member or not) would be able to tell you that....oh and the 'gains only being modest when tuned' comment is quite the furfy as well. If that was the case a highly tuned car could run on 91ron without going bang. Yeah right! Edited 11/02/10 11:19 AM by tab

I brought mine nearly 2 years ago (18 mths old at the time) with 56,000km on it and got it for $19,800. Ford has not seen the car since 1,500km and I have had no problems at all with it.A bargain for a great car I reckon! Also scares the sh*t out of people when you come up behind them :-) Edited 11/02/10 12:27 PM by Hymie
