As has been mentioned in this thread already, there's a sh*t load of XR6 turbos out there, so don't just settle for the first nice one you see. If you are patient, then you will score yourself a good buy as bargains do tend to pop up here and there, you just need to wait.I waited over 6 months to get my BF T, as I'm a real fussy person and it had to be exactly what I wanted and I didn't want to settle for anything less. In the end, I scored an '06 BF (August build with typhoon bottom end)in Ego, 6 speed auto, 34 000k's on the clock, new tyres, 12 months reg, leather interior, premium sound, in-built sat nav, full service history for $22500, so it was well worth the wait. The k's were so low because the owner hardly drove it as he works away from home and drives the car for a weekend once every 2 weeks, so the car was kept in immaculate condition. The only thing the car didn't have that I wanted was a sunroof, but for the price it was too good to let go, and km's were more important to me than a sunroof as you can always get one installed later. As always, you have to haggle the price if you want to get it cheap. Goodluck mate!
wazzahutcho Member 12 Member For: 14y 10m Posted 08/02/10 12:22 PM Author Share Posted 08/02/10 12:22 PM Hey guys haven't bought one yet.... looked at a few white ones but this one caught my eye.The Neo (not light but not dark blue for us new to Ford people ha ha) BF mk II early 2008 model.Ex-Police Unmarked Chaser.Almost immaculate exterior and dark tinted windows, like darkest I have seen in a long time. There were no screw holes or marks from any roofracks or wiring around the door seals either, I checked for those after the pointers from reading threads on this forum, thanks guys.Had near new front tyres and the rears weren't much more used. The interior was almost spotless, had the screw holes in the passenger side of the center console near the gear shift from where the communications gear was all screwed, but he said that was getting replaced this week. Also has premium audio and climate control.Seats are in top condition as I heard on here also to look for wear marks from the cops utility belts. The dealer wouldn't let me test drive it as he said he was on his own and wouldn't let a young bloke take a turbo on his own, don't think he realised I was 30..... anyway he said to come back during the week. It was raining at the time as it has been for god knows how long in Sydney and the roads would have been pretty bad and probably better off for me as I did plan on giving it a bit of a performance test of my own once I got a block or so away from the dealer.Has done just over 70,000 klms but I will wait till I test drive it and give you guys more feed back after that.Oh and he is after just under $27,000 for it..... I think it is a little bit too much considering what else is around, though in the BF mk II range all I have really seen are white ones. What do you guys think about the price ?I plan on heading back out there sometime this week, not wanting to seem to eager, and getting the test drive and seeing what I can do price wise with him.He also tried to tell me that police cars are stock standard straight off the production line and aren't chipped or tuned to run better then cars available to the public. Anyone know how true this is or is it some Government crap they are told to say? He also said if I asked any police officer even highway patrol they would tell me the same thing. Go back and have a real close look at the panels and make sure it just hasn't been touched up, I'd even take a magnet with me. Being an ex-chaser, I bet you it has been a hard 70000klm, in just 24 months.Of cause that is way too much to pay, have you checked the redbook valuation on it? Me reckons 22K should be top dollar for it, even then I reckon I'd be paying too much.Up to you, but keep looking I reckon Edited 09/02/10 05:50 AM by revheadrobbo No need to quote above post

Be glad that unlike most of the European stuff, the XR6T runs absolutely fine on regular unleaded. Using 98 you may notice minor economy gains, you won't notice performance gains... We're only talking an additive here(regular Vs 98), it's not the 'super fuel' that many build it up to be.
wazzahutcho Member 12 Member For: 14y 10m Posted 09/02/10 12:27 PM Author Share Posted 09/02/10 12:27 PM Had another closer look at it this arvo after work and going out with my dad and a mate of his that is a mechanic on the weekend.Checked the service book and it is a mid to late 2007 model, bought from Dominelli Ford at Sutherland, not far from my place, by the NSW Police Service and serviced regulary.Checked all the seats, all around the floor, the boot, inside the fuel cap flap and under the bonnet and looks to be in awesome condition, no sign of damage or touch ups.Questioned the dealer to see what he knew, though I know he could be just telling me stuff I wanted to hear. He said it came from out rural west like dubbo or somewhere I think he said, not a city based highway patrol car. He also showed me one of the white ones he had there, it had the tell tale marks from the roof racks and wiring and a dodgy touch job trying to conceal it and was not as good a condition inside. He also gave me the story about the white ones he had were all thrashed and the same with the standard detectives cars. Will check mechanically on the weekend as to how the neo blue ones stand up.He said he has another neo blue one arriving tomorrow sometime, same model BF mkII with around the same klms on it and in similar condition, may help me bargain a little bit more. This one Really looks the goods but yeah not to sure on the price......
