I dont do this to my mates (ex-mates) anymore cause no one seems to want to lend me their car after the last mishap. My car has a phucked gearbox so I just do burnouts in my dads car as he seems to not care or know.

Matt

I love this guy, hey you wanna marry my daughter roflmbo.gif

Im running 360rwkw and all good. on a bamk2 motor. 100,000km. Been over 322rwkw for 70k. 360 for about a year. So far so good.

Ive got 350 rwkw in an o3 series2 4spd auto with a 3000 histall, done 100000 km's with this power no problems!

lmaooo matt and u wonder why no1 is lending u their cars? your clearly a few sandwiches short of a picnic. Its like borrowing your friends shoes, doing a crap in them, and then leaving them at his front door and thinking everything is ok. Back to the topic. I have a stock ba engine and im running 318kw at 13psi.. getting cranked up to 15psi on tuesday so hopefully no blown engine :D

I daresay that a large portion of these stories ocurred because of bad tuning or lack of capable hardware. Detonation is the number 1 killer in these things, so a tune that is on the limit or hardware that isn't upto the task will only end in tears!

To run big boost (remember, 15psi is a 250% increase over standard) you need to have a good quality cooler & enough fuel (including a nice buffer margin for extreme weather/driving aplications) as well as a tune that has lots of safety parameters.

I believe that if you can't afford to do it properly in the first instance, you shouldn't mod at all as it will cost a packet when it lets go.

Blaming the tuner is not a good call at all. Actually it's a pretty piss poor one. 'Most' tuners do what WE their customers ask and pay for. In my case I had a tune done that I asked for, but was still safe. I had a HEAP of timing that could be pulled out if anything went sus. But a hose from the boost solenoid come off causing an over boost to about 25psi @ 4500rpm. not cool under load at 120k/h.

There are 4 or 5 exceptional tune shops in this country, ALL who pride themselves on pulling every last kw safely from our motors. You will be hard pressed to find one of these tuners who would sacrifice reliablity for KW.

The next teir of tuners are very good, and the only thing seperating them from the rest is ability and knowledg, something that will come with time and experience.
