Feedback from Atomic about Riki's motor is it was piston failure. Most of the cylinders were ok except number #3 which had to be sleeved.

Block was fine.

general piston cracking

thrust skirt cracking

damaged or broken ring lands

pin boss failure

Pin hole errosion

Piston land scuffing or seizure

banded scuffing

lower piston skirt seizure

general skirt scuffing

four point scuffing

thrust skirt scuffing

centre skirt scuffing

non thrust side scuffing

pin axis scuffing

circlip damage

I was running 335rwkw through my 03 BA for a year.

went for a lovely sunday drive, gave it a bit off the lights (no more than it would usually get) on the way home then started hearing a ticking noise from the engine.

number 2 is 6mm shorter from top dead center and down about 80psi on the rest, luckily for me it didnt come out the side. Its in my shed now looking very naked about to be lifted out to cop a forged treatment.

the T5 is still going strong. haha
