Is there anything I should look out for before I sign off and pick up this tame beast? The weather on Monday should be great to learn how to drive these things. So....what is the consensus on a new F6 - drive it like you stole or baby it for a few weeks????I better change my sig. Guest Al@n Guests Posted 29/01/10 06:45 AM Share Posted 29/01/10 06:45 AM Mate congrats, make sure before you hit hard shes up to running temp. Then dont allow it to maintain same rpm for extented periods with the occasional stab up to 5250 rpm. But definately dont baby it all the time, good luck I am certain you will be very impressed, cheers

My opinion is if you want to keep the car forever then take it slow and baby it. But if you want a car that makes good power and you don't plan on having it till you die then don't be afraid to exercise the engine right through the rev range, don't hang it off the limiter and don't run it for long periods at the same rpm. Make sure you change the oil at say 3000k's or abouts.Benny

Well, what can I say.....I have had a smile on my face all day. The F6 is such a waste cruising around, just begging to be given the boot. But I am showing some restraint, every now and then. It is such a joy to drive, cant explain how sedate it feels. That is untill the revs start to climb in a dramatic fashion. I have been using the auto shift in manual mode to alternate the revs. One thing though, as all engines that make some serious power they do get thirsty quickly. But with the odometer only sitting on 150km it is early days and will start to lean off after 3000kms similar to the XR6T.I am loving the new car leather smell, cant get enough of it.One more thing, the look on try hard Clubbies, WRX and Nismos I came across today was priceless when I gave it a little squirt every now and then. They have been coming out like I was a target of some sort. Must have been the areaI was passing through.I know - THIS POST IS WORTHLESS WITHOUT PICS. Will try and find a spare minute and put up a couple pics. Now I have to wait another 8hrs before I can sit behind the wheel again..... Cheers.
