Hi guys.

I have fitted the XR8 intake and lower box this arvo to the otherwise stock (for now) FG F6, and it certainly feels more responsive, and eager.

The snorkel (purchsed second hand) had been been trimmed so that the bonnet can close easily.

When the bonnet is closed though it appears that the seal sits in front of the mouth of the snorkel, which would effectively be blocking some of the entry...

I am considering trimming the seal where the snorkel mouth is to ensure that full airflow can get in there un-obstructed.

What do you guys think?

Why not just do what I did in post #2 of this thread?

After going through this process, I recommend you consider your mods. I did the upgrade with K&N then removed it. If just doing a flash and keeping the stock rubber hoses then ok. If running a pipe kit then I actually wouldn't bother. Go turbo side or like I did, a Growler. The main reason is, most pipe kits to suit either the PWR cooler, or stock, won't clear under the snork without modifications. I even worked with coolerworx to redesign their cold side pipes and whilst it cleared, it ended up hard on the rail so I didn't run them (no movement). I ended up spending money twice so like I said, think about your long term plans. Cheers, Michael.

I has a purpose Dillz and I should have added, fits perfectly with the p/west stage two kit. Clever Kev must have mocked the box up when he designed his pipe kit :spoton: . For bigger hp (350+rwkw) the box runs out of puff so if you're going to bomb a F6 then again, consider your long term plans or you'll be out of pocket again.

Anyone after a brand new K&N filer in Vic?
