Warranty Claims

I've had a number of minor warranty issues (broken plastic trims, etc.) and 2 major issues. I've had the drive shaft replaced because it went "bang" and then the car wouldn't go anymore! I had the ICC replaced because the CD stacker ate my CD's.

I would say that the reason you guys are hearing all these bad reports is because the people who have no claims, don't mention it. I didn't have any problems for the first month or so and I didn't mention this for a few reasons. Firstly I didn't want to look like an idiot by saying I didn't have any problems and then have them crop up the next day. Secondly, it didn't seem like that big of a deal (until problems started cropping up that is).

I wouldn't worry about it. If you are worried, then good luck trying to find a new car that doesn't have warranty claims being made.

Just to clear the muddy waters a bit.

My list is as long as many others. Even forgot a few items.

But,

I WOULD BUY ANOTHER ONE TOMOROW..............

Just like to have a few extra bits like and pieces from the options list.

Exaust/heatshield rattle X 3 (Yep, still there a little)

Drive belt chewing out on top idler pulley. Fixed.

You're the only other person apart from me I've heard of with this problem (exhaust). I've had it 'fixed' once but it's doing it again. Not a major thing, just a niggly annoying problem. Next service I'll get them to look at it again.

My discs warped so I didn't even bother getting them machined, binned them and purchased DBA slotted. Fark paying $3K for Premium Brakes.

I just noticed on the weekend that my drive belt is being chewed out, is this a problem I should have attended to straight away or will it be OK to leave until next service? :o How do they fix it?

After we had talked on Saturday, I had a look at mine yesterday and yes mine is the same.

Car already booked in for service so will let you know.

Falchoon

After stating last night that the only prob was some minimal brake shudder( kiss of death),

I too noticed a small rattle coming from the exhaust/heat shield .Heard it while I left car idling whilst I purged my mailbox of its daily feed of junk mail. It cant be heard from inside the vehicle or when in gear , only when idling in neutral.

Cheers

Well let's see..

- Car was taken to get the VCT Camshaft Solenoid fixed. Looks like problem solved (engine was running rough and sluggish before hand)

Now these will be checked at the 3,000km server next week

- The diff is making a "thud" on most occations. Will see if it's within FORD's generious specs.

- Fuel Lid not painted on one edge, very noticable

- a Bug or 2 under the paint on the roof. (not too serious, but noticable if you look hard enough)

- Had a vibration in the car at 120km/h when the engine was running rough. Don't remember it vibrating at that speed when the engine was running properly, so I'll put that down to the engine running rough problem, which has already been fixed.

Other than these "minor" probs, everything seems OK so far. But I will keep a hawk eye on everything.

*hanging onto a solid block of wood* Mine seems to be pretty flawless except for a pice of trim that doesn't appear to clip into place properly. It's mostly hidden when the door is closed (end of dash on drivers side) So I'm not mega worried about it. Everyting else appear fine!

It's actually the least defective new car I've picked up in the last 5 years!
