I made a post yesterday- not exactly sure where it went!

I spoke to a local panelbeater regarding getting an aftermarket bonnet fitted, and he mentioned that the non genuine ones never fit properly- and will vibrate because they won't be sitting on the factory rubbers properly?

Can anyone comment on this? Any pics of aftermarket bonnets appreciated!

I don't really want to drop $2k on a genuine bonnet (painted) but then again I don't want it looking skew wiff and feeling flimsy either!

had this after market one for 400...think they are even cheaper now....

fits perfectly and panel beater said it was no hassle at all...doesnt rattle shake or move.

could not fault it and dont see where everyone else is getting them from to be so sh*t..

happy to give you the company name if required

$200 has to be mates rates. $300 is cheap. $400 is going rate. Wouldn't pay more.

hey guys,my brother just bought his friend a fg xr8 bonnet bulge for his birthday and he paid $450..now there are a few getting around as ive been looking for one myself..some will come as a steel bonnet with fibreglass bulge $299,genuine $1500+ & the one my brother got which is all steel along with the bulge $450..now a few friends have bought some off ebay and they say that the bulges on them are not completely straight or in line with the actual shape of the bonnet,so be careful..

the bonnet comes prepped, primed and ready for paint..note: some other aftermarket bonnets wont come with the clip attachments for your factory heat mat under the bonnet..

Had my FG steel aftermarket bonnet on mine for over 6 months and cant fault it.

It didn't need any repairs prior to painting, doenst rattle and fits perfect.

I'm a panelbeate by trade, and I cant pick the differance.
