Here's an update, you don't need to remove the steering wheel.

The back of the indicator stalk comes off, its got a small hook holding it in place at the base. If you release that, the backing comes off, exposing all those wires, giving you a bit more length to solder it back together. I found two wires broken. Soldered them and put heat shrink on, put it all back together and its all sweet. Just saved 600 bucks

Has anyone got a how too on this or do ya just keep pulling the colum apart till you get down to the stalk wires ?

Had the same issue: Headlights/dash lights would go off when in auto mode and turning left indicators on, broken grey wire.

No need to pull entire column apart.

Separate top column shroud by griping by the two stalk openings and pull up. The concertina material is held on under the instrument cluster by 4 clips, It isn't necessary to release these, just prop the top shroud up with something. If you feel you must, the bottom shroud is held on by three screw from underneath.

The back of the indicator stalk pops off with a little effort. Look behind and in the right angle bend at the base of the stalk there is a 1 x 1 mm "hook" holding the back of the stalk on. Work this until it releases (sorry, no real hints on a nifty way to do it, I just worked it until it released).

This will expose the wires in the stalk up to the point they disappear behind the ignition switch. Hopefully your break will be visible somewhere here. Solder in a 2 cm piece of suitable gauge wire, shrink wrap and reassemble.

Mine had broken about 2cm from the ignition switch so was a PITA to solder and shrink wrap without burning/melting anything else, but eventually got it done with the help of an ex techie.

Hopefully this will help you get yours fixed.

I have the same issue, indicating left or right would cause my dash lights to cut off and on. but my headlights would work all a typical in auto mode they stay on and work fine I have noticed the my fog lights don't come on now with no dash light, which isn't a biggie as I don't use them only noticed when I was testing everything to make sure nothing else was wrong.

like the rest of you mine seems to be a cable issue that much I have been able to determine with out pulling everything apart, looks like tonight I'm pulling apart my indicator stalk to see if there are any bung wires. and hopefully my fog lights are apart of the same issue.

Now Guys, your reads where greatly helpful but, if your like me, and you pull that cover off and go faarrrk its not broken what next, I found that you have to do a bit of tracing.

This afternoon I had to follow the indicator loom all the way back to the main (biggest) plug under the dash, turns out the problem was one the white connectors, on one terminal it was fine, on the terminal with the 2 orange wires on it, the minute u touched it and moved it u could hear the relay ticking in and out.

The fix: I just got pliers and pulled the terminal through and twisted it ever so slightly to stop it moving, then just zip tied all the wires tight and so far no problems will go for a curise over some rough roads to test but if u in my boat this may give u some guidence
