Hi Folks,

I'm after a bit of advice. The first thing I noticed after buying a modified BA turbo was some nasty vibrations when decelerating from high speed. I've been told the stock BA rotors are quite average and are prone to warping. So I'm ready to chuck them in the bin. As far as aftermarket rotors and pads are concerned, does anyone have any recommendations? With decent rotors and pads, do the stock calipers do a reasonable job? I have no idea how much I should be spending and wanted to arm myself with some info before marching into a brake specialist who wants to sell me thousands of bucks worth of brembos.

Cheers,

Gus

There are plenty of posts about this in the forums, however for my 10cents worth, I had a similar problem and replaced the front rotors with DBA slotted and use Bendix generals for pads. I have only done 7000k with this setup but seems fine so far. If your problem is warped rotors you would feel it under brakes, especially downhill, not just when decelerating.

thanks for the advice. it's probably me just being dumb, but I've tried searching using the advanced search and haven't had much luck finding any posts. I should have written 'braking from high speed', it's definitely the rotors.

save you some effort, ditch the factory rotors get some DBA 4000's front and back and you will never feel shudder again. I went the bendix pro pads myself only downside is they claim to be "dustfree".... unfortunately not the case
