as most of you guys know ....I own an fg.....Yesterday went down to the gong....didn't really want to go there..with a double demerit points weekend..the police would be out in force.....so thought I would set the cruise control through the 50-70-80-100-110km speed zones...Wtf the fark...the cruise control has a mind of it's own......would allow the car to speed 20k's over the set speed...this was only going down some of the steep hills.........

So what's the story with manual cars and cruise control....I know with auto's with cruise control.. brakes through the auto when needed...so does a manual just roll away........thought it would go over the set speed a little but 20k plus.....could of cost me 6 points...Or is this another thing I need ford to have a look at....

Auto will change down a gear or two to maintain the set speed - not something your fancy-pants manual would be able to do by itself. Doesn't apply the brakes at all.

I'd say it's normal darl.

Yeah mine is the same, although ive not gone down any steep hills with it on. Unfortunately our CC does not read the road in front and adjust for the hills.

you can feel some engine braking on smaller declines...it slows and holds the speed....but on the major declines...it honestly feels like it rolls away....was rolling at almost 130km in a 100km zone....with cruise set at 105km....

Might have to get an auto next time....if some can't give me an answer for it...or god forgive a g...............ummmmmmmmmmm...g6................................ummmmmmmmmmmmm..can't even say it...

In auto mode? Get that looked at - it should be down three gears, revving its tits off, then eventually giving up before that happens.

or god forgive a g...............

Nooooo. Stop it with the evil threats

The FG's have much better control over the speed in the Autos than the BA/BF.

As for Roosters problem, if he was in a lowe gear, it would have done more engine braking.

IT happened the second time, the last hill just before the slight incline to the 80 zone.....

The boys in blue where heading north bound...in an highway patrol car... metalic mid green ve ss....

Would they have let me off.....guys I can really say I tried to stick to the speed limit...that would of just pissed me right off.. a ticket and 6 points.......next time I go down to the gong...maybe try it in 3-4 gear and see what happens...

Wonder if you could get around speeding tickets that way...........blaming the cruise control...the mind boggles...
