Howdy all,

I have a question for those who have installed valve springs on their cars.

My car had the good ol p!ssweak Nizpro valve springs which I had to change cause they were floating at high boost.

When I put the Atomic springs in I noticed there was a washer or shim on the valve guide seal under the spring, but according to the workshop manual it doesn't show this washer (it's a N/A head though). It shows the spring seated on top of the seal.

I wasn't sure if the turbo needed these or if Nizpro used them to increase the tension of their ones.

I have the engine out now (oil pump) and have noticed the cams and rockers seem to have more wear on them since I installed the Atomic springs. I thought maybe the shims added extra tension and caused more wear?

Any help is appreciated

Rob

I thought that too but the valve guide seal has a steel lip on it that neatly fits under the spring to stop it seating on the head.

Thanks for the input fella's.

Brad says that they seat on the valve spring seal, so out they go...They were another Nizpro cheap ass fix by the look of it.
