Posted 25/01/10 10:03 AM Author Share Posted 25/01/10 10:03 AM I have to say that I agree with you Daniel, I think that if the tyre is that good then it will be worth the money, and 400 a tyre isn't bad at all.I have to say that I feel that tyres are generally overpriced, but in most cases you get what you pay for. I have had a set of Toyo Proxes 4, in 18" guise and they had a great life, but they lost traction the older they got, I didn't have much confidence in them when it was wet... But for what they did for the price it wasn't too bad at all. Now I have Kuhmo KU31's for the 19" and they too aren't too bad, but I think they don't last long enough and again, they don't fill me with confidence. I don't like asking tyre dealers what they recommend, I would rather talk to real people with real experience and chose a tyre that I know is good, and that has been proven to work well. Thanks for the help

I reckon they're quieter and grippier than the stock Dunlops, in both wet and dry as well as braking. Have done about 10,000km and they seem to be wearing well. Considering they're about half the price of similarly rated tyres in that Motor mag test I'm more than happy with them.

I used the 595SS on my turbo pulsar and despite being cheaper than other tyres I had tried including some pirellis they gripped the best and wear well. I've got a set of 595 semis going on the T soon.

Im just looking for some now. And I am looking at the federal 595's 17 x 255 around the 210 per tyre mark for the street

I only have 6 left to sell at that price before they go up.I also believe you will struggle to find anyone in the country who can do better deals on either Federals or Kumho's.On another note, you would never catch me spending over $1200 on tyres. There isnt that much of a difference to justify an extra $1000 unless your caring about lap times. Edited 28/01/10 08:30 AM by HIRO F6

Tyre King at Baulkham Hills. 02 9686 4606. Not sure how many sets they have left.I am not at all happy with the factory tyres. Cactus at less than 20,000 kms does not sound good to me. They I don't do track days. I pussy the car round more often than not - around town economy = 12.8 L / 100 km's. The tyres are wearing evenly. And they're due for replacement already? I hope the Advans last a bit longer.PAH
