I've already got one lined up and just wondering what problems to look for. Below are the specs of the carBA XR6T 4 Speed AutoCappa flash170,000 kNew GearboxI realise that there is abit of K's on the car but is it worth it? The car has full log books, but obviously im assumming that parts will start to fail. I'm getting the car for a straight swap for my 05 Corolla sportivo which my wife doesn't use anymore.CheersMark

(I don't know what an 05 sportivo is worth) I just spent two months looking and got a 2004 BA XR6t in immaculate condition with 60,000km's on it for 18,000. It really does pay to look, look and look some more and then when you find one, get it checked over by a mechanic. I am not really mechanically minded, but some of the guys here will help you out in that area. I just advise you not to rush in.Matt

This should be a general rule for everybody buying unless you know the seller's driving habits. Especially with the wealth of XR6Ts available on the market that aren't modified and are more likely to have had an easier life to date.People who aren't satisfied with the power of the XR6T and flash it/mod it are putting their foot down more often, wouldn't be surprised if it's been taken to the drags also. 170,000ks... be careful. Not hard to find good examples not modified. By the looks you're restricted greatly by price though, so as the ol' saying goes... 'you get what you pay for'. I need to find the perfectionist to appreciate my baby.. I know its priced a little high by comparison, but I also know its condition is higher by comparison.. dont rush in..Henry would roll over in his grave if he knew we were considering swaping fords for toyota's!! Keep an eye out for evidence of things being removed and replaced....the exhaust for any evidence of having a bigger cat installed, holes drilled in places they shouldn't be... ..stuff like that etc...... For a 2004, 170,000km seems on the high side as well considering what I have seen on carsales.com. I'd keep lookin if you're keen for an XR6T.
