Hey guys just wondering what the go with the inlet manifold insulators is, has anyone ever tried one out?? or are they a complete waste of money. Heres a link to the website if you have no idea what im talking about.

Don't know anyone that has used them but I guess theres always a first. The one the seperates the two halves looks easy enough to install the other one will be a bit more involved.

I think the benefits are a little debatable.

Most of the power gain would come from changing the plenum volume.

The fact that the top is still attached to the bottom via the original method, it pretty much negates the insulating effect as there is still plenty of metal to metal contact. At best it would delay the inevitable.

The plenum is still going to be exposed to the underbonnet heat, and afterall, it is sitting in the hottest location.

I have one for between the two halves and I think it will definatly help reduce manifold temp in the top half. am a little unsure about the one to between the head and manifold will go with fuel distribution moved out that extra 12mm or so.

Best test would be to log Air Intake temps at the inlet port, before and after fitting spacer, with respect to ambient temp, barometric pressure and boost level. Yes, its much more involved but probably the most truthful way of testing, in the real world and on the road. Any takers?
