How are you guys timing your runs?

Also I'm sure it's not a rolling start. Hold a steady 80 then floor it, without hitting the kickdown button.

Using my datalogger I get 4.6 secs.

Did you read the above posts?

It has been clarified in Motor Magazine that the times are measured when you are already accelerating from below 80.

They accelerate from 60 or 70 and the V Box starts timing as you pass through 80 up until 120.

Yup, I read it and frankly I'll need to see a link.

Great if it is rolling 'cos that's a whole different kettle of fish.

And again, how are people (on here) doing their timing, stopwatch?

Not a real good comparison IMO. This doesnt take into account final drive ratios, number of gears in the box itself etc... some cars would be right in their sweet spot, while others would be labouring.

For example, I would carry this test in 3rd gear for my xr6T, fourth is too tall.

In most cars 4 is a close enough ratio of 1:1 so as long as these all have factory gearboxes which I guessing they dont it would be close

but lets be frank... bombodores is all we are worried about

A link?

Its a Magazine im quoting from not a website.

Why would I make it up? was just trying to inform of what I had read.

I take it the Motor mag is the Oz version.

Scan?

All those results are from euro mags. Test may be different.

Just don't belive that a 400rwKw barra turbo is up there with the fastest cars tested.

I am sure they are all rolling up to that speed and I am sure some are boosting up early (that's the concensus on the net - if you can read german) but a 400rwk falcon will be putting out 680+ engine HP which is right up there with more torque where its needed. the thing about this test is that it measures Midrange torque and that's the fords forte. you ever put your foot down in 4th in an evo , tick tock tick tock ... ah there it is???

I am using racecrono on my phone with an external reciever and its prety acurate
