trancemaasta Donating Members 23 Member For: 16y 8m 6d Gender: Male Location: Figtree, Wollongong, NSW, Australia Posted 18/01/10 08:57 AM Share Posted 18/01/10 08:57 AM (edited) After trawling through this and fordforums I am a little confused and don't really know anyone that currently owns an XRT so I'm a little lost.Just purchased the topic subject car with 35km's on clock stock standard.I want the cheapest sigle mod, BANG FOR BUCK!I have been told that a tune is the best..... reasons being:1. unable to be proved that you have flashed it (well... pretty hard in the even of a write off)2. $ for KW's = awesome valueI travel 50,000km's per year and hate drone exhausts on the freeway, but, I am after a safe figure of KW's / NM's that will give me a safe operating temperature, with similar fuel economy but with more KW's..... is there such a thing ????budget is as long as I want it to be, just want this car to be a tiny bit quicker if I need to whip a stock XR6T @ the lights thanks in advnance... and by all means if this is a duplicate post let me know but I have searched.looked at this which helped greatly - Linkand also... would like to know of a semi conclusive list of Wollongong/Illawarra XR6Turbo Mod Shops/Tuners. trevs Member 781 Member For: 17y 6m 22d Gender: Male Location: balmain Posted 18/01/10 01:59 PM Share Posted 18/01/10 01:59 PM tune only is ok and will feel a heap better than stock ..........but by the time you buy a flash tuner and pay for a custom tune your looking at $1500 depending who you see and if you shop around or what for tuners to have special or something id also say your fuel per 100km if anything will decrease im not trying to make you spend more money and im aware you said you wanted your car to look stock still but you can get injectors and a bigger cooler for around 1500 or less if you shop around and your car will run a heap better and also be safer in this heat than a tune only and either way you need a flash box and custom tune for either of your options after that things start to cost a fair bit more ...id check out these guys ive had my car tuned their a few times and ive been happy im also in wollongong at the moment and it not to far to drive to them Ford Performance - CV Performance - High performance tuning workshop based in Sydney Australia only tuner in wollongong that I know of who has tuned a few xr6t is jason from southern motor works his a great guy only problem is he likes the best of everything befor tuning $$$$$$ you car and also charges a lot for the work a good mate of mine has had some really tuff 2ltr wrx engines built and tuned by him in past and been happy here is his details he has no web site southern motor works 12 Miall Way, Albion Park Rail, NSW 2527 p: (02) 4256 6429 cheers trev Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
