Shark Member 128 Member For: 15y 5m 1d Posted 21/01/10 04:20 AM Share Posted 21/01/10 04:20 AM Well buddyMy Bro was taken out ten years ago, eleven in May on Windsor rd on his way to work about seven am. By a truckie who was speeding, overloaded and still over the limit at that time of the morning.Unfortunately for my brother and the rest of my family, my brother did not die and now requires 24/7 care. He is not much better than a dribbling veg. He cant talk, or do anything for himself, not even make a cup of coffee. At best he shuffles around in a walker but it takes him so bloody long to get from his room to the kitch or lounge, your better off going and getting the wheel chair. And by the time you have done that he has no idea what he wanted. It made me change careers and become an instructor. To volunteer my time and effort into the polotics of it all. Which is like trying to suck your own cock. It aint ever going to happen!!! But you try, you try because you care and hope to make a small change. If my going on about driver training on here and other sites maybe just saves one life, or saves one person from being like my bro, then it's worth every bit of it.Sorry but I do feel compassion for the kid and his passengers. I have it for his family and freinds. I have it for the people who had to clean up this mess. Were all human and no one is ever going to be an angel or get it right all the time. A loss of a life is a tragic thing and ranting and raving is going to do jack for anyone.Sorry IMO I find it pathetic. It will be up to your personality if you take this as abuse or enlightment. So what's the point of your post? How is that abuse, or even enlightenment? You're stating experiences .. The only compassion I have is for his family, friends, and the people that cleaned up his mess. Some for the passangers, but still very little. And none for him.Amazing how you believe that theres nothing wrong with the youth of today.I suppose if you had a brother that was bashed within inches of his life for not giving up his wallet, then that may be some concellation as to why you're completely wrong in that statement.Quite similar to your experience, only caused by someone on the other end of the scale .. right? I know that.. I really do. However again, you're basing this all on age.You think that because I'm 19 I have no idea about previous generations? Seriously.. what exactly is it you think I have no idea about? You think that because I'm 19 I might not have as much life experience as someone who is 30? That I might not know 'what you guys did'?People need to wake up and stop being so blind sighted. THAT is what's wrong with 99% of the individuals in today's society. Unwilling, and incapable of accepting anything other than what they see.(bit off topic, but it needs to be said)

BAC to BAS to BAL and beyond mean nothing to other states. Really some of you are just putting in to much effort. Why does there seem to be more condemnation for his alcohol levels and far less for his speed? And the suggestion we should have a self-admitted drink driving poll is a real pearler.I.B. So glad my kids are not so angry with the world as you are @19My point is ranting, blaming and condeming like you are does nothing. Has it boosted your weak ego?Get the hell out of dodge if you cant take the heat mate.I don't rant to boost my ego.It doesn't need boosting. Nor do I think it gets me brownie points with a bunch of so called 'mature' adults on an internet forum.I share my opinion because it pisses me off how blind some people are. It pisses me off because this is the world we live in.It makes me wonder that if you're scared your kids will have an attitude like mine, then you probably wont even want to hear about this sort of sh*t that will be happening in their lives in the not so distant future. It scares me to think that you may be the sort of parent who doesn't care what the world is like because they don't want to accept it.What heat is it you're talking about? Because I cop enough of it from older supposedly more 'mature' adults who think anyone under their age mustn't have had all this 'life experience' that they base their opinions on.I am not angry at the world, but rather the people on it. Why? Because the things I talk about effect myself, my family and the people I care about.I would actually hope to god that your children are as aware as I am at this age, because from every person that I've encounted on this earth, barely any are. Guest XR09 Guests Posted 21/01/10 05:55 AM Share Posted 21/01/10 05:55 AM Sorry sharkyI grew up in between Sydney and New York in the 60's & 70's. Parents divorced, that sort of thing. and in the 80's I traveled the world doing my chef trade. My father ran the Checkers club in Kings Cross. Then he was elpresidente of the George street RSL for many years. I would be up the Cross a lot from 16 on wards late at night. These places might not mean much to you. so lets just say if you F*cked up in there your chances of seeing the next day with any health were slim.It was no picnic back then mate. and I have had a few friends murdered, bashed & robbed, including myself. Heroin was prolific in Sydney back then. It was the recreational drug of choice. That and LSD.Yep the drugs used today are bad. But there is no more a supply now than back then. Might have been easier back then as it was organized crime.Would I live in Sydney now. Yeh on the north shore where I came from if I could afford it.But no I would not like my kids to have to do it now. I think you will still find it's just beat up by the media a lot more now days than back then. You say we are blind and ignorant. But we are not. Truly. You learn in life to take on what you can deal with. Because it can get too much. You learn to just try and do what you can to help yourself and your fellow man.Five young people are dead. Blame and anger wont bring them back to life. Nothing will. All you can do is hope that one day you have the opportunity to stop something like this. To save maybe one life after you have seen so many wasted through drugs, alcohol and stupidity. And mate I hope to god you don't have to see as many stiffs as I have.If we rant and rave and carry on so will the media. It wont affect me in the slightest. But it will you. Why would you want to be regulated in every thing you do in life. That's what is going to happen. You sound like an intelligent guy. Are you the only one? Or do you just feel that way. Like mine are 10 & 13. But my GIRLFRIENDS KIDS ( better) are a lot older. Our place is a drop in center for anyone of their friends and they do...lots I have been out with them drinking and partying and yep there were some drop kicks out there. but the fifty or so that I know at that age are kewl. There naughty yes, they can go to far. Enough for me to worry. Nope.Tigers eat their young, whales beach themselves and the ocean is going to cover the world again. Does that put a damper on my life? Nope. far as I know you only get one swing at this and I am going to make the most of mine. And hate, anger, blame and racism are too much of a burden for me to carryYes this is a tragedy, but throwing more negatives at it wont help the world.
