That unexpected factor, like the 2 goats that jumped out in front of me the other day is always the worse element at bringing one unstuck.I.B. I love my car and respect it, but I respect my and the other peoples on the roads lives more than that, and that affets the way I drive excessively. I think rather than look at how powerful the car is someones driving, look at the driver!I honetly dont know how to combat the problem though. I am baffled, I dont think education is the answer, coz if people can look at pictures and stories like this and still dont care then there isnt much point, restricting age limits and high powered vehicles to teens etc, isnt exactly fair for people who just like genuinely "tweeking" their vehicles and like working on their cars and getting good drag times and numbers on the dyno.I am baffled!!! And even then there will always be accidents. it sux but it's the truth.I completed a BMA (mine road safety) safe driving course, because in central queensland and far north, and western, the main issue is fatigue. The person running the course had the figures on hand to inform us that the last 3 to die from fatigue up here were ALL 40+ years old, and only 2 of the past 20 was under 30. Do we ban the midlifers from driving home from work... some mines have, does it work, people are still falling asleep. As a 28 year old, I can remember what it was like 5 years ago, before I had kids. But there are so many factors, some people just don't care, some people are in the wrong place at the wrong time, some people have a brain farts regularly, some not to often. Some people drink and don't drive, some do, some don't intend on it but make the big mistake of thinking just this once and I'll be careful... We have been punishing people for stealing, and murder as long as the mind can remember, but these things still happen.?.? Why, BAD DECISIONS!!!Education, and awareness, will stop some of it, but unfortunately there will always be someone who makes the wrong decision. It was mentioned that they were at a party... I wouldn't let my mate drive home drunk, let alone with another five in the car, where were their mates, someone at the party should have made the decision to step in. But at 18/19/2/21 you don't wanna step on anyones toes. Bad decision again. Edited 18/01/10 09:48 AM by mattyb

And something we have shown to all of our team at work to get the message through that at the end of the day we can train you on as many safety procedures as possible but we cant train you on the choices you make and the attitude you show. BradThis short film does say a lot.
