I dont want to start a sh*t fight TAB, but I can honestly say I have never exceeded ANY speed limit by more than say 40kms and that would have been on a freeway and not for a while. Really cant afford to lose my licence or car. Obviosuly still being a dickhead but there is a big difference between 140/100 zone and 160/60 zone...

Overloaded and excessive speed.

19yo P-plater.

Very tragic, and many families impacted.

The authorities may go on about high powered cars, but even na cars can do 140-160 speeds.

It's every parents wish that their child gets through that 19-22 age period unscathed, and often you don't know who is driving your children home.

Tab...put your brain in gear before hitting the keyboard mate

Wingnut is right in what he says, there's a time and place for everything and you can't compare a bit of speed on a safe road or cramming an extra person in your car for a short trip home to.....

Putting six people in a car driven a 19 year old "P" plater at 160+ kmh!!!

No need to go all emotional Reg, telling it how it is.

Like I said it's very tragic for all parties effected by the incident, but for anyone to sit back in their little glass house and throw stones is very hypocritical.

Wingnut - 140 km/h in to a tree would have minimal difference to this outcome, even if the car was legally loaded.

How can anybody not get "emotional" about the tragic waste of 5 (maybe 6) young lives.....

This should be compulsory viewing for ALL kids getting a licence these days mate....

Like I said, there's a time and place and being aware of the potential repercussions of your actions is all....

I meant emotional towards me personally.

Yes it was a very stupid thing to do, and five deaths could have easily been avoided. I do not for one moment disagree with that.

From personal experience though I can categorically say that I and many others have been in a similar scenario in my younger days, and had something have gone wrong (I.e. pothole, blown tyre etc.) then I wouldn't be here today to tell the story.

Back down the opinions please guys and show some respect.

The car appears to be "Blueprint", which means it's an early BA,

BF going by the fog light surround...only thing other than the wheel that still resembles a motor vehicle...

Apologise for that, I took your reply the wrong way mate...

Ain't that the truth, I shudder when I think of some of the things I've gotten away with in my youth that could easily have resulted in a similar headline to the above.

For all those who struggle to think of gifts for their kids on birthdays, Xmas etc....

May I suggest a defensive/advanced driver course...

My girls are 33 and 26 and I consider the 800 odd bucks it cost for them both to be money well spent.

Oh'...and Dags...yes you may be correct.

Apon closer inspection, the car could be Shockwave (Ba or Bf)not that it matters much now :stupid:
