Pete, its completely irrelevant whether being a police officer is a good or bad job. An overused cliche perhaps, but we all have choices in life.. Dont like the job, the pay or the hours, you find something better. Doesnt matter if your a copper, a teacher, a receptionist or a nightfiller at woolies. Only lazy people say they cant get work.

Totally Agree Matt, but someone has to do it. I think it comes down to the point that EVERYONE agrees they are glad it hit the press. Any other discussion as to why it was delayed or whatever seems to be a differnce of opinion, and that's fine. From my POV and this is the last post I'll make on this, is that it's so easy for the cops to cover this up. But they or someone hasn't, and that's good! Cheers

Why should it have to be public knowledge? Can't recall my name ever being plastered across the front page after receiving a ticket, nor do I send out a memo at work or a media release to let everyone know what I've been up to.

Yeah sure no one would give a rat's arse about a nobody receiving an infringement - but if I'm entitled to a bit of discretion and privacy then why isn't a cop?

At the end of the day who really cares? Does it change anything?

No it won't change anything, but given this clown's role as the chief traffic commander and his constant rantings about the evil of speeding, then he set's himself up for more scrutiny. As is usually the way with zealots, they are hypocrites by nature, preaching what they know is a crock. He has absolutely no excuse given the position he is coming from.
